This was the first year since its inception in 2014 that the Basketball Ireland Club Draw was conducted digitally, allowing more grassroots clubs than ever before to engage with the fundraiser.
Speaking following the conclusion of the draw, Basketball Ireland CEO John Feehan said: "Overall I'm very pleased with the levels of engagement we have seen from our clubs during the process. This is the first time the Basketball Ireland Club Draw has moved away from physical ticketing and there was always going to be a transition process, but ultimately this format makes it much easier for our clubs to participate and raise some vital funding. That is the core aim of this superb initiative. Increasing accessibility is a major part of our digital strategy for our sport and this move has been another step in the right direction in that regard.
Conducting the draw alongside Feehan was Basketball Ireland's CFO Donal Walsh and Interim Head of Commerical and Brand Mark Russell.
